La Collina Omihachiman is a brand named confectionary store under Taneya Co., Ltd. This flagship shop is located in Omihachiman City, Shiga Prefecture. It attracts many visitors by its famous grass covered roof. Taneya was originally established in Omihachiman City and now has many shops throughout Japan. Fujitec elevators were installed in this unique shop, designed by Mr. Terunobu Fujimori, a prominent architect and architectural historian. The elevator doors are covered with gold leaves on the 1st floor and platinum leaves on the 2nd floor. Lastly, white plaster coats the interior of the elevators. Taneya’s employees, local students, and contractors participated in the design and decoration of the shop’s exterior.
