Shiga, Japan – Fujitec Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Hikone City, Shiga Prefecture, Japan; President and CEO: Masayoshi Harada) has begun introducing a solar power generation system on the roof of the warehouse building located on the grounds of its Big Wing Head Office in Hikone City, Shiga Prefecture, as part of its ongoing efforts to reduce environmental impact. The solar power system, which began operation on November 1, was introduced through an on-site Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Eneserve Corporation (Head Office: Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture; President and CEO: Hiroshi Inoue; hereinafter “Eneserve”), a member company of the Daiwa House Group.

Approximately 1,000 solar panels have been installed on the roof of the warehouse building
By installing the solar panels provided by Eneserve on the roof of the warehouse building on the grounds of the Big Wing Head Office, this initiative enables the electricity generated to be used for on-site consumption within the facility. The system has a generation capacity of 619.5 kW and is expected to generate around 700,000 kWh annually, supplying approximately 14% of Big Wing’s annual electricity demand. As a result, carbon dioxide emissions are expected to be reduced by approximately 280 tons per year.
Efforts to reduce environmental impact is one of Fujitec’s materialities: Fujitec has set a target of reducing greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 1 and 2) by 46% by 2030 compared with 2019. Fujitec will continue implementing initiatives to reduce carbon dioxide emissions across all its activities.
