2024.11.15 The destination floor registration unit, “DF-f,” developed independently by F/HS has received the “Silver Winner” award from the NY PRODUCTION DESIGN AWARDS.

The destination floor registration unit, “DF-f,” developed independently by F/HS (HUASHENG FUJITEC Elevator Co., Ltd), which is the Fujitec’s Shanghai-based production base, has received the “Silver Winner” award from the NY PRODUCTION DESIGN AWARDS※ 2024.

Under the concept of universal design, the functions of the touch-type LCD screen, the card reader, and the artificial voice announcement are newly developed considering the use of the elevators by all users including the elderly, the wheelchair, and the optically challenged.

The lower part of the said unit has a human-presence sensing light that informs the coming users of the de-energized status of the DF-f unit. When the said unit is placed under the situation where nobody use it for a certain period of time, the unit enters into the energy saving mode by reducing the light intensity (lux) of its screen down to 70 % and making the sensing light blink.
Once the user touches the screen, the sensing light will vanish by making the screen light up and show destination floors.

The synchronization of the vanishing of the sensing light with the activation of the LCD screen panel brings the success to reduce the electrical energy consumption to be used for keeping the activated status of the LCD screen panel during a stand-by period of time. Electrical energy consumption has been reduced by 20%, compared with that of the conventionally used destination floor registration unit. This reduction can lead to the reduction of the amount of CO2 to be emitted by the unit in use and makes the unit eco-friendly.

※ The NY PRODUCTION DESIGN AWARDS is a world-wide known design award provision organization of the U.S.A., which has been found to praise internationally talented product designers, design teams, and product makers.
