Fujitec Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Hikone City, Shiga Prefecture, President: Mr. Masayoshi Harada) has launched a special website for elementary school children to learn how to ride elevators and escalators with “Tecky,” Fujitec’s mascot character.

By answering quizzes and watching movies, children can have fun learning about the structure of elevators and escalators, how to ride them, and their history and technology. The dedicated website answers children’s questions about the elevators and escalators they use in their daily lives, such as “How are elevators and escalators structured?”, “What should we do when we encounter a certain situation?”, etc., and includes various features that can be used to educate children at home, lecture at elementary school, and conduct other similar educational activities.

The following is the background that has motivated Fujitec to create a dedicated website for elementary school children:
So far, since 2013, we, Fujitec, have conducted an in-school safety lecture at elementary schools in partial areas of Japan, such as Hikone City, Shiga Prefecture, where Fujitec’s headquarters is located, Maibara City, Shiga Prefecture, and the Tokyo metropolitan area, to teach elementary school children how to safely use elevators and escalators. Based on the above background, Fujitec has organized web content and established the website to provide elementary school children across the country with the opportunity to learn the methods of riding elevators and escalators.
