Mt. Fuji World Heritage Center, Shizuoka

The first thing that catches the eye when you visit “Mt. Fuji World Heritage Center, Shizuoka,” in Shizuoka Prefecture, is the exterior, a beautiful inverse cone made based on the image of an upside-down Mount Fuji. As a base for protecting Mount Fuji (a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site) and handing it down to future generations, it exhibits materials related to the mountain and provides information from historical, cultural, natural and other perspectives.
Two Fujitec elevators are in service there. One of them is installed in the center of a 193-meter-long spiral slope where visitors can view images of Mount Fuji.
